In these times of despair, Believers Eastern Church continues to bring hope to the poor and needy by extending a helping hand to them.
On 15 May 2020, Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Chakradharpur held a relief distribution at a leper colony. The diocese distributed 5 kg rice and 2 kg potatoes and hygiene items to 17 needy families who have been going through severe hardships due to extended lockdown.
The team also brought awareness among them about the importance of maintaining social distancing, proper hand-washing and other precautions they should follow to keep coronavirus at bay. Most of these families survive by begging on the streets, but the lockdown has left them stranded at home, with no money and no ration.
All relief distributions by the church are done with the approval from local government administrations and safety protocols are followed during the distributions.
